An Evening with Jody Young

I am a master-bead artist who lives in the Pacific Northwest. I owned Beyond Beads Gallery in Spokane, Washington (closed in 2010) for more than 21 years. I lived in Maui for two years selling my Beadwork at the Grand Waliea as artist in residence. Returning back to the NW, I traveled the US doing shows and teaching. For the past 4 years I’ve been working out of my home, doing zoom classes, masterclasses and I sell lots of my supplies on Facebook and in my Etsy Shop.
My Bead embroidery passion and artistic skills began at the young age of 12. Now I am almost 65 and I am still doing what I love.
My work has been recognized and award winning. My distinctive style is called “Raised Textured” Bead Embroidery with unique and different techniques to give my Beadwork depth, interest, and movement.
I draw inspiration from nature. I love anything that reflects the sea and I use lots of shells and corals in my work. I love to create home décor using my Raised Texture Technique.
